JoJo's Mardi Gras Band Dates

JoJo Hermann
Widespread Panic keyboardist JoJo Hermann has announced four dates for his Mardi Gras Band. Hermann formed the Mardi Gras Band shortly after Widespread Panic decided to take a year and a half off from their rigorous touring schedule. The band made up of Max Abrams (saxophone), Johnny Few (bass), Hunter Williams (percussion), Kevin Mabin (drums), and Hermann creates a sound that keeps listeners dancing all night. Being regular players at many Middle Tennessee Churches, Johnny Few and Kevin Mabin offer a great deal of natural talent and soul to the group. The band focuses on the sound of New Orleans that was pioneered by artists like Professor Longhair, Dr. John, and The Funky Meters, all of which were a huge part of Hermann's musical background. In capturing the quintessential sound of New Orleans, The Mardi Gras Band will be sure to provide a night of dancing, partying, and great entertainment.

i caught them from a distance at bonnaroo '04.. only caught a couple songs but it was definitely a solid show, lots of splashy nawlens-style funk grooves and horns. and jojo can certainly hold it down on the ivory.

oh yeah! this line up knows how do it right. DO NOT MISS THESE SHOWS. Johnny Few is the man, as is known by music scene regulars here in Nashville. There is no telling what they'll play, but one thing is for will get you groovin' and keep you groovin' all nite long.

saw them in Nashville for Halloween a few years back, and it was a great time. Nothing too mind-blowing, but solid playing, fun tunes, and well worth the money. I would recommend checking them out if you can, but don't expect Panic-style jamming, its just a good ole Nola dance party
