Gov’t Mule/Allman Brothers Band guitarist/vocalist Warren Haynes was among the performers who came together at Berklee Performance Center in Boston last night to pay tribute to members of “The 27 Club,” musicians such as Jimi Hendrix, Robert Johnson and Jim Morrison that died at age 27. All proceeds from Saturday night’s benefit support Right Turn, an innovative program for drug and alcohol recovery with deep roots in the music community, offering long-term programs for men and women that combine traditional treatment with creative expression.

Gary Hoey, Gary Cherone (Extreme, Hurt, Van Halen), Pat Badger (Extreme), David Ellefson (Megadeth), Simon Kirke (Bad Company, Free), Tony “Thunder” Smith (Lou Reed), Steve Bailey (Jethro Tull), Barry Goudreau (Boston), Woody Giessmann (Del Fuegos), Josh Kantor, Amy Fairchild, Erica Rodney and Ernie Boch Jr. were among the musicians besides Warren Haynes who performed at the benefit last night.

Haynes time on stage included takes on The Del Fuegos’ “I Still Want You,” Robert Johnson’s “Crossroads” and “Sweet Home Chicago,” the Jimi Hendrix-inspired cover of “All Along The Watchtower” and The Doors’ “Love Me Two Times.” The Who’s “Who Are You,” The Rolling Stones’ “Honky Tonk Women,” Free’s “All Right Now” and Hendrix’s “Foxy Lady” were among the other songs performed at last night’s benefit.
