Yesterday, three special upcoming shows featuring Grateful Dead/Furthur bassist Phil Lesh that
will be held at Terrapin Crossroads were announced by the venue. The three gigs
include the first-ever Hootenanny, an Autumn Equinox celebration and a pre-Dark Star
Orchestra performance featuring Phil.
The Terrapin Hootenanny will take place on September 14. Terrapin Crossroads defines
the Hootenany as a "celebratory event held at Terrapin Crossroads featuring some or
all of the following: moonshine, straw hats, people 'twirling' socially, banjo, sing-
a-longs and a Grateful Dead flag. Interestingly enough, it tends to be wild and
uninhibited with rotating performers known and unknown, young and old." Phil Lesh
will be joined by Scott Law, Jason Crosby and "many, many special guests" for the
performance. Those purchasing dinner tickets will be treated to an all you can eat
backyard BBQ on the Terrapin patio with Phil and the Gang.
Also, Phil & The Terrapin Family Band will be joined by Aaron Redner of Hot
"and other special guests" on September 25 for an Autumn Equinox Celebration, which
has been described as "an evening of reflection and renewal, a celebration of all the
beauty autumn brings." Finally, in honor of DSO's October 3 & 4th performances at the
venue, Lesh will pick one of his favorite Grateful Dead
shows which he will
recreate with special guests on Thursday, October 2.
Tickets for all three shows will be available at the venue starting
at 4 p.m. PT this afternoon, which will be followed by an online ticket sale
tomorrow, August 30.
