The fine folks behind Music Heals International are raffling off an acoustic guitar signed by every current member of Bob Weir & RatDog to raise funds for its efforts to bring music and musicians to the children of Haiti and beyond. Those who donate at least $20 via Crowdrise before 11:59 p.m. on September 1 will automatically be entered into the signed guitar giveaway. You can also click on the grey “Fundraise for this Campaign” button on Crowdrise to create your very own fundraising page. The more money you raise the more entries you get to win the guitar.

Music Heals International (MHI) works to bring music and musicians to the children of Haiti and other parts of the world. MHI is designed to to teach and inspire, using music as a powerful force for education, creativity and healing. Fall 2014, MHI will initiate its first project in collaboration with the nation’s leading nonprofit for music education, Little Kids Rock, and Haitian Relief Organization, J/P HRO, starting with the J/P HRO school of hope (Ecole de l’Espoir) and community development campus (Kay Kominote) located in the community of Delmas 32, one of the areas hit hardest from the 2010 earthquake. MHI is planning to also launch the music program in additional Delmas 32 schools in 2015. The goal is to provide a transformative experience in kid’s lives, and with the power of music, to inspire the creativity and confidence that are critical to success in school and in life.
