Jerry Day, a San Francisco tradition since 2002, will take place on August 3 at the Jerry
Garcia Amphitheater in McLaren Park. The event, which celebrates the life of Jerry Garcia, has always been driven and successful due
the large amount of volunteers associated with Jerry Day and in an attempt to help grow
event, the organizers have put in a proposal to supply them with funding in order to do
local advertising, distribution, and to provide them with more tools to empower local
volunteers to be more involved and engaged with McLaren Park and the Jerry Garcia
Amphitheater. How can you help? Head to the San Francisco Parks
website and vote for the Jerry Day proposal.
Voting closes on May 30, so make your voice heard as soon as possible. 2013 was a big year
for Jerry Day as the Jerry Garcia Amphitheatre was preserved thanks to a campaign that
collected over 5,000 signatures in just two weeks. Last year's Jerry Day concert featured
Melvin Seals and JGB as well as Stu Allen & Mars Hotel. Look for this year's lineup to be
announced soon. Those interested in volunteering should fill out this form.
