With this year’s installment of Suwannee Hulaween about to begin, we thought this was the perfect opportunity to re-share a piece we did about the debut of one of The String Cheese Incident’s most-beloved covers. 1999 was a big year for The String Cheese Incident as the Colorado-based band toured relentlessly expanding their fan base exponentially. The jam band held their 1999 Halloween show at the Electric Factory in Philadelphia and included a number of cover debuts in the second set.

One of those covers was Paul Simon’s “Under African Skies” off his classic Graceland album. String Cheese does “Under African Skies” justice, often jamming it out and it has since been performed over 60 more times.
