Yesterday marked the second full day of Panic en la Playa at the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Punta Cana, Dominican Republic. According to a report from Tree Thugger, a fire broke out on the thatch roof of building #2 before the show went on as planned. Thankfully, there were no injuries caused by the fire. A representative from the Hard Rock tweeted, “Thanks to our well prepared staff, it caused no harm and got extinguished on time. Keep enjoying. We’re looking after you.”

Widespread Panic’s second of four performances went on without a hitch. While the band didn’t mention the fire from stage, there was one reference at the end of the show:
We Didn’t Start The Fire house music to send us on our way. Perfect.
