Stormy Mondays | Hunter & Previte's Groundtruther

This Stormy Monday features a single, hour-long track from Groundtruther - the name for guitar maestro Charlie Hunter and avant-garde jazz drummer Bobby Previte’s on again, off again collaboration. The pair have released a trio of deep groove recordings, each one with a special guest who tends to flavor the whole outing.

Live performances, always completely improvised, sometimes also include a third player - sax man Greg Osby and DJ Olive, among others; although just as frequently (which isn’t frequent at all) just the duo performs. In this case, DJ Logic joined for a 2005 performance in London. It’s a spacious and incredibly thick creation with dozens of different flavors and textures melting and overlapping, including some really beautiful passages. It’s perfect music for a long walk or drive. As always, enjoy!
