Last week we shared the terrible news that a crew member working on Midnight
Rider: The Gregg Allman Story was killed during filming. Friends, family and co-workers of the 27-year-old camera assistant, Sarah Elizabeth Jones, are honoring
her on a new Facebook page called Slates For Sarah.
As of press time over 45,000 Facebook users have liked the page from across the globe. A
message on the page reads, "Sarah Elizabeth Jones, friend and family to so many, made
every day awesome. Show your slate love here along with all the good stories of her life."
Both those who knew Sarah and those who were touched by her loss have shared touching
messages from around the globe. Over the weekend Gregg Allman issued a statement about
Jones's loss that reads, "I am so terribly saddened by the news of the tragedy that took
the young life of Sarah Elizabeth Jones on the film set. My thoughts and prayers go out to
her family, friends and colleagues during this time of mourning."
Sarah's friends and colleagues are also making an effort to have her name read during the
Academy Awards Memorial Tribute. So far over 40,000 have signed the
Production on Midnight Rider has been suspended according to Variety.com.
