Fumihito Sugawara & Claude Nine : 35mm

It’s nostalgia time for the RecommNeds…starting with this wonderful album that plays like a soundtrack to a movie that doesn’t exist. It’s a movie that might feature a lounge where James Bond and Austin Powers get together to have a cocktail and meet some lovely ladies after a long day of kicking bad-guy ass. On 35mm Fumihito Sugawara teams up with Claude Nine for an album full of delicious bygone grooves: surfy guitar, bossa nova organ and plenty of fun.

Nostalgia 77: A Journey Too Far

Speaking of nostalgia, Benedic Lamdin put it in the name he releases his music under. Still, the word that comes to mind with the newest Nostalgia 77 album, A Journey Too Far is ”easy.” This music is easy to listen to, easy to dig deep into, filled with easygoing grooves and a light touch. Most of the tracks feature German vocalist Josa Peit to add a nice dreamy quality of a time and place long forgotten. This is mornings-with-your-lover kind of stuff, when everything should be, well, easy.
