Cover Alert | Sweet Child O’ Mine Traditional Jazz Style

Scott Bradlee & Postmodern Jukebox have a knack for completely reinventing modern pop songs with an old fashion twist. “My goal with Postmodern Jukebox is to get my audience to think of songs not as rigid, ephemeral objects, but like malleable globs of silly putty. Songs can be twisted, shaped, and altered without losing their identities–just as we grow, age, and expire without losing ours–and it is through this exploration that the gap between ‘high’ and ‘low’ art can be bridged most readily,” Bradlee explains. The group has garnered millions of views for their takes on such songs as Lorde’s “Royals,” Miley Cyrus’s “We Can’t Stop” and One Direction’s “Story Of My Life.”

Bradlee’s latest cover features Guns N’ Roses’s “Sweet Child O’ Mine” performed in traditional jazz style. Scott & Postmodern Jukebox are joined by singer Miche Braden whose powerful pipes, combined with clarinet and horns imitating Slash’s memorable riff and solo, make this cover a winner. One thing we can guarantee, you’ve never heard “Sweet Child O’ Mine” quite like this:
