This weekend the Midnight Ramble Band, formerly known as the Levon Helm Band, is holding court at The Capitol Theatre in Port Chester, NY. At last night’s first of two shows, the Ramble Band was augmented by Little Feat’s Billy Payne on keyboards for a performance that included a handful of Little Feat’s most beloved songs.

Friday night’s 18-song main set featured a mix of Little Feat classics such as “Oh Atlanta,” “All That You Dream” and “Dixie Chicken” and songs from the Ramble Band’s gigantic songbook of The Band tunes and beyond including “Life Is A Carnival,” “The Shape I’m In,” “Ain’t That Good News,” “The Weight” and “Remedy.” For the encore, Payne and Ramble Band treated fans to “Deep Elum Blues” and “Willin’.”

The Midnight Ramble Band returns to The Capitol Theatre tonight.
