Colorado funk-fusion act The Motet are gearing up to unveil their first album in over four years
later this month and will celebrate the release of the eponymous LP with a special show at
Denver's Fillmore Auditorium just over one week from today on Saturday, January 25.
The album, the band's seventh, is filled with originals including the soul-laden "Like We
Own It," which we're excited to premiere right here on JamBase:
On the 25th, The Motet will be joined by many outstanding musicians including Jason Hann
(percussion) from SCI & EOTO, plus Jen Hartswick (trumpet) and Natalie Cressman (trombone)
from the Trey Anastasio Band. The show will also feature two of The Motet's favorite
national acts: Snarky Puppy and Orgone, as well as electro-funk genius DJ Mikey Thunder.
Check out a promo for the show featuring the single "123":
The Motet's self titled album will be available for the first time exclusively to those in
attendance at the Fillmore that night for only $5. In addition, the first 200 people
through the doors will receive a complimentary copy of the new CD. Tickets for The Motet's
album release party are available via Live Nation.
