The Simpsons MusicVille Couch Gag Could Be Best Ever

Like many, there was a time when The Simpsons was can’t miss television for us on Sunday nights. While we don’t watch the long-running show as much as we used to, we’re thankful we turned it on last night. The episode started with an amazing two-minute “couch gag” that re-imagines the show’s characters as musical instruments.

The short pays tribute to music-themed, animated-shorts of the Depression Era. As you can imagine, Lisa Simpson is a saxophone while the other members of her family are different brass instruments. Mr. Burns plays the jazz-hating villain in the short titled “MusicVille,” while dozens of other characters are included. Kudos to The Simpsons creators for keeping the intro fresh after all of these years. We don’t want to give away too much, so just watch it for yourself:
