Phish Fan Wins Big On The Price Is Right

On today's episode of the long-running CBS game show The Price Is Right, a contestant named John won big in scoring the elusive $1.00 spin in the "Showcase Showdown" and provided the winning bid in the "Showcase" finale to win the grand prize. Why is this of interest to JamBase readers? Johnny's a Phish fan and gave a shoutout to "all the Phish fans out there" as the wheel was spinning.

Watch John in today's "Showcase Showdown" including his (and host Drew Carey's) Phish shoutout:

Here's the "Showcase" finale:

Thanks to PT's phshjd for capturing the footage. Speaking of Phantasy Tour, a user named "JohnnyMcFlyThe30Kguy" supposedly is the John who won on The Price Is Right. He shared this account earlier today:

Once again PT for the win! Hilarious comments. This was filmed the morning of the Hollywood Bowl show, several PIR crew members were wearing Phish shirts, I had gone to Chicago>Gorge>Tahoe>Price Is Right>Hollywood Bowl. We we're in line for 6 hours before we all got interviewed by the head producer. I brought the Phish show energy and it worked out. I can get the prizes anytime from today to 3 months from now. It gets delivered or I have to pick it up from a dealership. I already paid the taxes... $2,100 for over 30k in prizes minus $1000 for the wheel, so $1,100 wasn't bad. I chose the first showcase for a couple reasons, 1st they made a beatles reference introducing the scooters, and my now wife and I play music and we did a small tour of the bay area (KPIG radio, Freight & Salvage in Berekely, Quixotes in Santa Cruz) so the chance to go back and play again plus book shows around the Canada trip was on my mind.

Also the scooters are something I've wanted and prob wouldn't have gotten ever, so it spoke to me. The boat would be cool, but docking storage and maintenance etc... BOAT=Bust Out Another Thousand... I bid a dollar my second guess because i didn't realize there was someone after me, it's loud and there's no monitors to hear what's going on and what other people bid... My wife is way better looking than me, totally true, and in photos I occasionally make a Corky face hahaha..... i was intentionally hamming it up for sure, definitely an exaggeration, I always knew which camera was on to play it up, I just let the excitement and energy take over and tried to be entertaining. We had tickets to Conan which we missed cause I was signing forms, but the phone call to my grandma right after was a highlight and the best part of all was finishing the day with Phish at the Hollywood Bowl!

Congrats Johnny! This wasn't the first time the Phish World collided with the Price Is Right World as a group of fans sporting Phish t-shirts appeared on a 2011 episode:
