Those attending last night’s Brian Wilson and Jeff Beck show at the Beacon Theatre in NYC were treated to a previously unannounced performance of the Beach Boys’ iconic 1966 studio album Pet Sounds by Wilson and his band which includes former Beach Boys Al Jardine and David Marks.

According to a report by Andy Greene of Rolling Stone, Wilson dropped the bombshell news just before kicking off the performance of the album in sequence with “Wouldn’t It Be Nice.” Wilson’s set also included a guest appearance by former Beach Boy Blondie Chaplin on “Sail On, Sailor” and “Wild Honey.” Later in the evening Brian teamed up with Beck for takes on “Our Prayer,” “Child Is The Father Of Man” and “Surf’s Up.” The encore saw both Beck and Wilson’s bands combine forces for “Surfin’ USA,” “Barbara Ann” and “Danny Boy.”
