The Meters, Nirvana and Yes Among Rock Hall Nominees

Late last night the list of 2014 Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Nominees was revealed by Andy Greene of Rolling Stone. The list features first-time nominees Nirvana, Peter Gabriel, the Replacements, Linda Ronstadt, Link Wray, Cat Stevens, Yes, The Zombies and Hall and Oates. Previously nominated acts back on the ballot are the Paul Butterfield Blues Band, Chic, Deep Purple, LL Cool J, N.W.A., the Meters and Kiss.

Fans can vote for the acts they feel deserve to be enshrined at the Cleveland museum, but bear in mind the top five choices picked by fans will count as only one of the over 600 ballots that determine who gets in. Musicians, industry vets, historians, critics and past Rock Hall inductees make up the rest of the voting bloc. Nirvana is the only band to be nominated in their first year of eligibility as the Seattle legends released a cover of "Love Buzz" in 1988.
