Videos: Jerry Garcia Symphonic Celebration Featuring Warren Haynes At Tanglewood

Famed venue Tanglewood in Lenox, MA hosted the latest Jerry Garcia Symphonic Celebration featuring Warren Haynes last night. Haynes teamed up with the Boston Pops, bassist Lincoln Schleifer, drummer Jeff Sipe and vocalists Alecia Chakour and Jasmine Muhammad to deliver two sets filled with orchestral versions of Jerry Garcia’s finest songs. Even conductor Keith Lockhart embraced the occasion by sporting a tie-dye.

The evening’s biggest surprise was the inclusion of Irving Berlin’s “Russian Lullaby” in the first set. Garcia recorded the tune for his Compliments album in 1974 and performed the song many times between 1975 and 1994 with a variety of his solo projects including Garcia/Grisman and the Jerry Garcia Band.
