AT ECHOPLEX IN LOS ANGELES TONIGHT

Legendary rock band The Rolling Stones will kick off the 2013 portion of their 50 and Counting Tour in earnest on May 3rd at Los Angeles, CA; but that won’t be their first gig of the year. The rockers have just announced a surprise show at Echoplex in Los Angeles that will take place this evening.

The band has been rehearsing for the tour in LA and clearly want to dust off the cobwebs before next weekend. Los Angeles Rolling Stones fans are in a prime location for the tour as besides tonight’s warmup, there’s two upcoming shows a piece at Staples Center and Anaheim’s Honda Center.

While whenever the Stones announce a tour a big story are the exorbitant ticket prices, you can’t accuse the group of not taking care of fans tonight as face value for the valuable ducats is only $20. A lottery was held at the El Rey Theatre this afternoon for which attendees could only purchase one ticket a piece in an attempt to thwart scalping. As you can imagine, tickets for the show at the tiny club sold out with a quickness.
