The Heavy Pets

The Northeastern-turned-South Florida rock quintet The Heavy Pets, will soon kick off an 18-city, 19-day tour to support the release of their debut album Whale. The Heavy Pets, whose roots run deep into the Northeastern corridor, will attempt to achieve eternal Jamnation in such cities as Philadelphia, Burlington, and Boston, MA. The tour begins Halloween night, at City Limits in Delray Beach, Florida.

The tour also includes stops in New York City, New Orleans and Nashville, a condensed version of their 2007 summer tour. "We are excited to return to many of these cities and present our latest arrangements. We're gonna slam dunk this shit" said lead singer/guitarist Jeff Lloyd. Whale is a double disc independent release. Its wide spectrum of original tunes features selections dealing with Rice Wine and Global Warming ("Iceberg Blues"), inter-planetary space travel ("Earthchaser"), spicy Italian sausage ("Sopresatta") and Ayn Rand's social commentary ("John Galt"). The debut album's wide breath and depth of influences display an impressive command for a band this young.

these guys are blowin up if you havent seen them play yet I recommend it. They opened last years langerado and played decently. They played at Cypress Spook Jam in Ochopee FL last year and jammed all night until like 4 or 5 in the mornin. sick jamband. Whos goin to the Bear Creek fest in n FL

I agree with O1Roggae, the Heavy Pets are sick. Their new CD whale, a double disc album, is great and shows the large amount of talent this group has despite the fact that they are young. Go see the Heavy Pets!

These guys rock. They don't leave Florida often enough, so catch em when you can. These guys with Laura Reed rocked out near asheville this summer. HOPE YOU GUYS WILL BE AT LANGERADO NEXT YEAR, peace.

this story is outdated, but the song remains the same. these guys rocked ashefest and bear creek and are preparing to melt more faces at langerado (their 3rd straight year playing the fest). the only band i've ever travelled outside of the state to go see is Phish... until THP came along. i've already been to philly, NY, and NC, and i'll be back in NY and philly this february. they really are that good!
