The Heavy Pets |
The Northeastern-turned-South Florida rock quintet The Heavy Pets, will soon kick off an 18-city, 19-day tour to support the release of their debut album Whale. The Heavy Pets, whose roots run deep into the Northeastern corridor, will attempt to achieve eternal Jamnation in such cities as Philadelphia, Burlington, and Boston, MA. The tour begins Halloween night, at City Limits in Delray Beach, Florida.
The tour also includes stops in New York City, New Orleans and Nashville, a condensed version of their 2007 summer tour. "We are excited to return to many of these cities and present our latest arrangements. We're gonna slam dunk this shit" said lead singer/guitarist Jeff Lloyd.
Whale is a double disc independent release. Its wide spectrum of original tunes features selections dealing with Rice Wine and Global Warming ("Iceberg Blues"), inter-planetary space travel ("Earthchaser"), spicy Italian sausage ("Sopresatta") and Ayn Rand's social commentary ("John Galt"). The debut album's wide breath and depth of influences display an impressive command for a band this young.
