TO CO-OPEN SF INDIE FEST

Created by famed musician, Boyd Tinsley, with production partner Filament Productions, the experimental film Faces in the Mirror reversed the typical order of film production. Tinsley composed the score before the cast and crew were gathered, and the film never had a script. The film advances the story primarily through music, acting, and stunning cinematography. A one- of-a-kind film, Tinsley describes it as a “modern-day silent picture,” and, “it’s almost like the film is the score.” Boyd Tinsley and his band mates from the Dave Matthews Band recorded the film’s soundtrack over a five-day period in Seattle.
The film follows the story of a young man, Ben Fisher (Ryan Orr), who returns home to bury his estranged father. On the day of his father’s funeral, Ben goes on a dream-like journey as he searches for forgiveness. Lead actor, Ryan Orr, says, “This film is so strong… because it came from a very deep, emotional place.”
These gatherings will take place in sixteen different cities across America, going from Portland to New York. Boyd Tinsley, accompanying the film, will follow the film screening and musical performance by meeting and greeting fans in attendance. Some events are ticketed and some are free.
