Manchester Orchestra
Manchester Orchestra is proud to announce a 14-date North American tour with Kings of Leon and Black Rebel Motorcycle Club beginning September 4th at The Warfield in San Francisco. The dates will include performances at New York’s Radio City Music Hall, Los Angeles’ Greek Theatre, two nights at The Ryman Auditorium in Nashville, TN and The Fox Theatre in the band’s hometown of Atlanta, GA. The young quintet will be touring in support of their critically acclaimed debut album I’m Like a Virgin Losing a Child. The band, which Rolling Stone Magazine raved about in their “10 Artists to Watch” feature, will make their national television debut September 6th on the Late Show With David Letterman. Manchester Orchestra will also perform at this year’s Austin City Limits Music Festival.

Manchester Orchestra’s majestic album has already caught the attention of many. Full of emotional vignettes that delicately unravel over the course of an elegantly conceived musical arc, I’m Like a Virgin Losing a Child explodes with a dense expanse of guitars and organ, all driven by intimately insightful lyrics.

Paste magazine praised the band in their “4 Artists To Watch” feature and raved, The maturity and conceptual depth of 20-year-old frontman Andy Hull’s songwriting is years beyond his age. Alternative Press recently proclaimed the band as one of the best underground bands that likely won’t stay underground for long, and went on to say “get I’m Like a Virgin Losing a Child through whatever legal means necessary.”

Manchester Orchestra recently completed tours with Brand New, Say Anything and Saves The Day and made a triumphant appearance at this year’s Bonnaroo Music and Arts Festival about which Spin.com raved, with rambling existential lyrics in the vein of Built to Spill and guitar work akin to R.E.M., Manchester Orchestra proved themselves to be enjoyable impresarios with a growing and devoted young fan base, many singing along to essential tracks.” The band is currently on a co-headlining tour of the US with Colour Revolt and will be touring the UK twice before the years end, including performances this weekend at the Reading and Leeds Festivals.
