NYE SHOW, WINTER DATES
The Bay Area annually attracts many big-name acts from all over the country and world to headline concerts every New Year’s Eve. This year, there is one local act that stands out among the out-of-towners at almost every other venue. Headlining the intimate Bottom of the Hill in their first major Bay Area headline show since selling out Great American Music Hall in July is perhaps the Bay Area’s most recent buzz band and its newest addition to the national music scene,
Tumbleweed Wanderers.
Back in the Bay from numerous Western US tours and a North American tour supporting Angus Stone, the five-piece has been working on new music and recordings through November and December before taking off again touring the country in January.
At the New Year’s Show, called the “New Year’s Eve Dynamite Soul Revue,” the band will be doing two sets, featuring music off of their debut album, So Long, as well as new material and selections from their repertoire of classic soul songs. As at their July record release show, the band will bring on a slew of guest musicians including a horn section and additional singers.
Joing TW for the all-ages show are Big Tree, an environmentally friendly indie-pop group, and The She’s, a young all-female surf-pop quartet, two Bay Area bands with their own enviable resumes and considerable followings.
