are these guys any good?

I saw these guys after Um on NYE at a bar across the street. The music was steller but the sound engineer had them sounding awful. I'd like another chance to check them out to make sure the crappy sound quality was just a fluke. Musically these guys are legit.

they are definitely good. both of their sets at camp bisco were banging, crazy energy. they did a good job recreating some aphex twin late night. i was damn impressed. it was pouring down rain and most of the people were back at the camp, but everyone at the show had a great time. look forward to seein em at the soapbox in may.

Personally I think Future Rock needs a lot of work. I've seen them three times when they've played with other bands I've seen and haven't even been slightly impressed. Their bass player plays bass less than half the time and spends all his time talking into a pretty bad sounding vocoder (or whatever their called). I have to admit I'm not the biggest fan of their genre in general but there are much better bands like them that everyone should check out like Pnuma Trio. I don't mean to be negative...just my opinion for BGsteveBG.
Oh and check out Chinese Fingertrap and Fat Maw Rooney from the midwest!

yea chinese fingertrap suprised someone knows of them but never seen future rock, heard they are kinda lame but im gonna see em 1or2 before lotus in wisc.

definitely some cool sounds but not terribly creative musically.... If you like sound tribe you might like them, I find the tribe a lot more interesting though. This lacks sound tribe's depth and direction, and when you say a group lacks direction compared to sound tribe that might be saying a lot ;-) . Seems like a pretty young group still though.

I have heard them a few times. Not my thing, but they have some promise if you are interested in that style but need a bunch of work to get there.

They're alright, agreed that a little tweaking would help. Have seen them a couple of times, good when highly intoxicated and probably fun if you're into drugs. Their keyboard player is pretty nasty and energetic, for being like only 5 feet tall. Go Chicago!

their album is ok!! I will place it with Pnumas album, they are about the same. its just ur little three piece eball band.
I like it ok, but there is much better things to spend money on. these little bands dont really get my attention, but I can listen to them sometimes. peas....

caught the "Aphex Twin" set and Future Rock's regular set at Bisco V...Very impressed considering it was just the "three" of them. Future Rock's Livetronica sound from the midwest is very keyboard heavy and deserves a listen from any 'jam' fan. Harmonized is a Great label to be pumping out these beats! This relationship is a win-win for the band, the label and so many more fans who can now catch Future Rock. (song FM1 is a sick tune for your car)

future rock was real cool at camp V. their late night set in the rain was pretty epic....sorta generic but i like.

This band rages- Catch them when you can, and buy this CD!

This band is not generic and stands out from the lotus or pnumas of the world because they play actual songs and they are more electronic. Go see them. Sugar Coated Bullets is a great album.

Another up and coming band people need to check out in the live electronic scene is Elemental Harmonics, they played a raging hour and a half set at Camp Bisco V that was pretty tight, yet another young band with a lot of potential. they are on tour in a bunch of east coast cities in April, definitely check these guys out!

Thats crazy...Chinese Fingertrap and Fat Maw Rooney are two of my favorite bands. Thats awesome that people are starting to hear about them! Do you know they're playing together for 4/20? Whooooeeeee!!!!!!

It seems as though most of the people leaving negative comments aren't really into the genre to begin with. These guys ROCK!!! They are a MUST see for anyone who loves to throw down on the dancefloor as well as for those who love to kick back with a drink and watch amazing music. I have seen them many times and they are just sick!! I suggest all of you find out for yourselves!!!
