i believe bisco is playing at the zoo at like 2 and modest mouse begins at 7 so you could see both. i mean you'd miss the later bisco show but still...modest mouse...

modest mouse is a fantastic band. insightful lyrics, quirky song structures, and some pretty cool grooves. go ahead and talk trash.....i'll be inside dancing.

I liked Modest Mouse untill i saw them live. This was like 2 years ago and they could have matured a lot since then which im sure they had. The thing i dont like is the ripped the dead fans in rolling stone. You doing a rolling stone interview and u rip on the grateful dead fans and reffered to casey jones as that ones casey song. Ya that song is about 3,000 times more famous then there songs. Plus when i went to the modest mouse concert i had people wearing their shirts tryin to start fights with me and trashing the place all over the place and they said that dead fans were bad people, allright whatever. Ya they r talented but they need to get their heads out of their asses and stop ripping up bands that are/were a lot better than they r

Modest Mouse is good. They Should add more dates. Don't worry, the grateful dead, as well as their fans are also good. That is all.

Last time I checked, Minnesota was spelled Minnesota - touche.

Great article! Marr is God.

Modest Mouse boycott......"I don't despise the grateful dead, just their fans" - Isaac Brock from Modest Mouse in rolling stone

Its ashame because I actually like the band. Isaac Brock could only wish for fans as good as deadheads. They're the best fans in the world and most loyal to their band. Forever DeadHead!!!!

I did not know about the Dead comment. Fuck these guys. If jambase had a spine and would remember that name they have, they would delete every reference to these douchebags.

modest mouse are hardly relevant, especially in the jambase world! who cares what some guy said about Deadheads?? i've been a fan for almost 20 years and i've heard far worse! besides, johnny marr looks like the old drunk uncle of these youngsters... i wish he and Morrissey
would just kiss and make up...

Yeah i was introdeced to modest mouse a few years ago. love their style and they just flat out get me off. Don't know what it is that seems to make them feel so damn real. Some of their lyrics are dark and not positive but life is that way and people can relate. Now as far as live I remember wanting them to just run off with a song but was over as soon as the tempo was their for me. But I learned, listened and adapted to that particular style and I think they are doing their part a little more in the new album to fullfill that jam. But fuck they rock.

i love these guys their lyrics are jst like zwada said, dark but life is dark. unless you live in hollywood i guess then it's pretty glitzy but i know that i relate to those lyrics especially old mouse, like lonesome crowded west, it's so much beauty it could make you cry ;] seeeeeee you in philly guys

you cant really take anything Issac Brock says seriously since he's obviously emotionally unstable

It's true. Isaac has probably never said anything seriously to a reporter since he started talking to them. He hates doing interviews so he probably said it just to get a rise out of people and have fun at an interview.

jesus. you deadheads are whiny sacks. what if you were held to every flippant remark you ever made? would people think you a genious? hmm, maybe brock was right....

how about posting the rest of his Deadhead comment?

"it's living in oregon and just seeing these worthless, talk-too-much-about-what-people-are-doing-wrong, not-really-doing-anything-themselves fuckin' hippies. that i despise. "casey jones" or whatever is a great song. i remember the grateful dead played in seattle, at the seattle center. i was living there, and after the show i was walking to work near there and i'd never seen so much debris. there were mountains of garbage. outside of being green-minded about weed, i thought they'd be environmentally conscious, but it was the filthiest i'd ever seen seattle. it's like they were tripping their balls off in squalor."

^^you can't blame him for his biased views. if you're not involved with the scene, there are plenty of examples to jade your view about "hippies".

Their new song sucks ass. It's the only one I've heard from the new album, and it makes me sad. It sounds like they're trying to be like the Arctic Monkey or Bloc Party or some other shitty, trendy band (or maybe they just sound like The Smiths, who I've never listened to, when they play with their guitar player). I really liked their other albums like Lonesome Crowded West and Long Drive and the Moon & Antarctica, but ever since Good News it seems like their shit is going downhill. But then again, I haven't heard any other song on the new album.

it's a bummer that isaac feels that way about deadheads. i'm just getting into modest mouse, and just when i thought i couldn't like them any more than i already do, i read this shit. being a huge fan of the dead, it sucks to know that's how he feels about us, but i guess it's all about the music. dead fans are the most loyal you can come across, so he should watch what he says from now on.
