About Daniel Martin Moore
Daniel Martin Moore is a singer and songwriter from the great Commonwealth of Kentucky. His first album, Stray Age, was released at the end of 2008 by the venerable Sub Pop Records. His second record, Dear Companion, is a collaboration with cellist, singer and songwriter Ben Sollee and was produced by Yim Yames. Recorded in the first half of 2009 in their home state, the album explores their ties to the place they love and addresses the impacts of Mountaintop Removal (MTR) coal mining on the people and heritage of Central Appalachia. A portion of the proceeds from Dear Companion will benefit Appalachian Voices, an organization devoted to ending MTR and finding a better way forward.
