Over the past two summers four concerts were held on the beach in Atlantic City, New Jersey featuring acts such as country superstars Lady Antebellum and pop-rockers Maroon 5. The concerts were a success, so the city’s local government is looking to expand the program in 2016. The Press Of Atlantic City reports Live Nation Mid-Atlantic submitted a proposal to hold six concerts on the beach next summer.

The proposal will be discussed today at a Council meeting. No details have emerged about just who Live Nation would like to bring to the beach. Live Nation did hold the previous concerts on the beach in Atlantic City in 2014 and 2015. As per The Press’s report, Atlantic City mayor Don Guardian has recommended that Live Nation be awarded the contract for the six concerts. The report goes on to state the city’s request for proposals was for six events that would draw 30,000 a piece. If the Council approves the contract, Live Nation will get to work rounding up acts to play the concerts on the beach.
