Rasta Got Soul with Fantan Mojah Everything Rastafari Promotions and Knak Dem Out Productions Presents Rasta Got Soul with Fantan Mojah. International Jamaican Reggae artist Fantan Mojah will be performing live in concert Saturday March 16th at Moe's Alley in Santa Cruz, Ca along with raising Jamaican reggae artist Prestige, Jah Warri, Xsample and Zareb. This will be a full band show back by the Four the hard Way Band. Tickets are $15 Advance at and $20 at the door. Fantan Mojah is a rising reggae star, he hails from Kingston but was born Owen Moncrieffe in St. Elizabeth, Jamaica. Inspired by artist like Bob Marley, Burning Spear, Buju Banton, Capleton and Sizzla. Fantan Mojah has always been very motivated by music, he also is a strong religious man. Those two factors combined is Fantan Mojah, it is how he makes his powerful Reggae and Dance hall music. He signed with Greensleeves Records and in November 2005 Fantan Mojah released his debut album ‘Hail The King’, containing the No. 1 hit single ‘Hungry’ To gain experience earlier in his career Fantan Mojah took a job working with a traveling sound system, and performed songs during the sound checks. He adopted the name Mad Killer, in an homage to one of his favorite artists, Bounty Killer. Fantan Mojah was exposed to the Rastafarian movement and his music began to take on a more positive tone. Fantan Mojah is notable for being one of the new wave of contemporary reggae singers who prefer to include positive themes in their lyrics. Like some popular new reggae singers, he is a Bobo Ashanti. His faith is reflected in his lyrics, where some recurring themes are - praise for Jah and messages of Rastafari, positive portrayal of women, and condemnation of ill morals. This is a contrast to many popular dance hall artists, who encourage "slackness" in their lyrics, with boasts of sexual prowess and derogatory messages to women.
