Peer agreed to record them the next day. That night, as the band discussed how they would be billed on the record, an argument ensued, the band broke up, and Rodgers arrived at the recording session the next morning alone. And Jimmie Rodgers recorded the first Country Music recordings in Bristol. Blue Mother Tupelo's performance at the Jimmie Rodgers Festival is dedicated to Ricky Davis's Uncle Bus Tankersley who used to go to Bristol to sing and carouse with the likes of Jimmie Rodgers and The Carter Family.
