Successfully merging English folk and progressive rock, The Strawbs have enjoyed commercial success with songs like “Part of the Union,” “Ghosts,” “Hero And Heroine” and “Benedictus.” The Strawbs have also showcased a fine array of British musicians over the years including Rick Wakeman (prior to joining YES) & Sandy Denny (with whom they recorded “Who Knows Where the Time Goes” prior to her joining Fairport Convention). The Strawbs continue to be led by founder singer-guitarist-songwriter Dave Cousins. Hastings (Sussex) native and Philadelphia resident Wesley Stace penned a pair of novels, released over a dozen albums ranging from traditional folk to full on pop music and was even a guest DJ on WXPN.
