Howdy! Have your ears stopped ringing from your NYE revels? Starting to plan your festival treks for 2010? JamBase is already into the thick of it, keeping you apprised of initial lineup and date announcements and offering glimpses into the New Year's shows of Furthur, Gov't Mule, Phish and more, full of colorful pics of the unfolding action. As excited as we are about the year ahead, we did pause to reflect on 2009 in our Annual Best of List Roundup and more broadly on the Most Important Shows of the Decade. If you haven't done so already, please check out these retrospectives and weigh in with your own thoughts – we love to hear what's on your mind! And while we're reflecting, it's worth counting one's blessings this month and seeing if you can offer aid to those suffering in Haiti. Donations can be made to the American Red Cross and other charitable organizations. Like most serious music people already know, there is more that unites us than divides us, and in times of great need we may discover the best parts of ourselves surface.

TAB the Band
 TAB the Band is rock 'n' roll Vitamin E, kicking out your hangover and making you crank the volume knob till your neighbors bang on the wall. Anchored by Adrian (vocals, bass) and Tony Perry (guitar) (the sons of Aerosmith's Joe Perry), TAB is the endearingly together descendent of killer hard rock and power pop past, channeling the best parts of Cheap Trick, Skynyrd and Thin Lizzy into honest, gutbucket true music. Their third full-length, Zoo Noises (arriving January 26), is one joyously played, memorable ditty after another where all the ancestral echoes feel natural and not some conscious affectation. They stir the feeling of '72 Stones and Zeppelin III in ways that reconnect one with the original mojo behind these touchstones. "We decided whatever ideas we come up with we're gonna put them in," says Adrian. "Rather than segregate influences, we put them all together. If people listen to the whole album, they'll get a sense that we can do a lot." Doctors Without Borders
 Doctors Without Borders/ Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF) is an international medical humanitarian organization.
MSF has been working in Haiti for 19 years, most recently operating three emergency hospitals in Port-au-Prince, and is mobilizing a large emergency response to this disaster. They are now asking donors to give to their Emergency Relief Fund. These types of funds ensure that medical teams can react to the Haiti emergency and humanitarian crises all over the world, particularly neglected crises that remain outside the media spotlight.
