JamBase Monthly Newsletter- Go See Live Music

We know that in these busy times it's hard to keep track of all your favorite acts and all the shows you want to see. This is why we created JamBase. Track your favorite artists to get an email alert whenever a show is added in your town. Save shows to your My JamBase Calendar and get a reminder a few days beforehand. Download our critically acclaimed iPhone App so you can be sure to never miss another show when you're on the go. See? Problem solved!

We also know that you can't be everywhere, so for all the shows you just couldn't make, we've got your back with a constant stream of live music coverage. We have setlists and photos from every stop on the recent Dead tour, a rundown on what went happened in New Orleans for JazzFest and a great review of Pete Seeger's 90th Birthday Celebration at MSG in New York. On top of all that we've recently caught up with Widespread Panic, Dr. Dog, Band Of Horses, John McLaughlin and Chick Corea, and Railroad Earth.

Whatever your live music needs may be, JamBase has got you covered.

Cedar Hill Refugees
artist photo
Some sounds are new despite the general impression that everything's been done before. To wit, the beatific merger of backcountry American folk currents and Uzbek jam band ways in the Cedar Hill Refugees, which combines the sharp sensibilities of Uzbekistan's Jadoo with country/bluegrass masters like Marty Stuart, Randy Scruggs, John Cowan, Dr. Ralph Stanley and The Peasall Sisters (Oh Brother Where Art Thou). Coordinated by John Carter Cash and Jack Clift, their new album, Pale Imperfect Diamond (arriving May 19 on Effigy Records), swirls readily appealing acoustic music with nifty rough edges that sit outside tradition but draws from it, too. This exuberantly undulating meeting of cultures has a newness and pleasant strangeness that's sure to excite any lover of hybrids with real heart. Give them a listen on MySpace.
