It's
easy to kiss off The Big Wu's stubborn insistence that
"we're all about the fans" as typical rock star
banter. But The Big Wu is not a typical band. And its members
hardly consider themselves rock stars - just a bunch of regular
guys playing their hearts out.
The
Big Wu is a rock 'n' roll band bit by a loon: a little
crazy, and never afraid to make fun of itself. Nonetheless,
there's an inherent sense among its burgeoning fans back home
in the Midwest, and around the country, that the heartland's
premier grassroots attraction is on the threshold of something
big indeed. The bans tours relentlessly, and their unequivocal
fan/family affair continues to blossom across the nation as
the band reinvents its songs and sounds from one stage to
the next. Family members have described Big Wu shows as "a
musical catharsis in every way you can imagine" that
"makes you feel like you have something in common with
everyone in the room."
