The Saenger Theatre in New Orleans, Louisiana is the Gulf Coast's premier live entertainment venue. The 'Grand Dame of the South' reopened its doors in September 2013 after suffering severe damage in Hurricane Katrina. Designed by Emile Weil, the Saenger Theatre was built by Julian Saenger in 1927. Advertisements of the day described it as "an acre of seats in a garden of Florentine splendor".
