The first party presidential nominating convention to be broadcast on radio occurred June 10–12, 1924 as Republicans met at the Public Auditorium in Cleveland, nominating Calvin Coolidge.

It was here, during an October 28, 1980 debate with President Jimmy Carter that Governor Reagan used the famous phrase "There you go again."
