How was the new venue? Heard the cops were out the ass.

The cops were out the ass. I personally didn't get hassled by any but they were there, as well as security (safety), and the red shirts on the horses. I'd say at least a dozen or more sheriffs, maybe even up to 20. The mountain didn't have that presence at all. But with that being said, they were actually cool from what I saw. As long as you weren't acting like an idiot you were ok.

So how was the venue compared with Marvins?

I'm sure getting INTO the place was WAY easier???

How about the camping? What were the campgrounds like?? Any shade?

How about the stage area? Was the stage in the same place as when the Dead played there and where it is at Hookahville? Was the crappy gravel still in front of the stage??

How hard was it to go up and set in the pines in the shade and catch the music?

How hard was water to get? Ice?

Hey! Thanks a LOT for the detailed info. I really wanted to go but since it was a new venue I sort of decided to wait. I mean I have been there to see the Dead in 88,91 and 94, plus Hookahville this year and 2 years ago but the heat was putting me off. In May we about baked out there.

But I figured it would be better once I heard the rain was gonna come.

I really regret missing the Allmans. They have been on my list for YEARS but so far have never got to see them.

Once again Thanks a lot there McJeff!
