skerick is sick!

his band (sincopated taint is it?) blew the roof of of the 12 galixies last night with a sick horn section and amazing drummer!

I was outside chilling infront of the club at a point during the show listening but not fully paying attention as a great tenor sax solo rages inside. when the cloud of smoke clears and i realize the dude is walking out of the club, into the smoking area, sax in hand while he continues on with his solo and the band comps him from the stage. what a trip! there was a point where skerik and the band were on stage comping while the rest of the horn section marched about playing along with them.

bad ass players all around! creative ~ without fear! excelent showmen!

I haven't seen them live, but I can't get enough of the tracks on the Syncopated Taint myspace page. Absolutely amazing, can't believe I missed them in Madison.

john wicks is the most humble drummer around. if you live in southeren cali keep an eye out for his gigs with los punkinheads. it's john with money mark and mike watt doing all improv. most the shows are free at a coffe house in san pedro.

I just saw Skerik with the Coallition of the Willing last week and they were AMAZING! Skerik is probably the most innovative sax out there.
