It kills me when people post wanting everyone to check out a certain band, and then they don't even provide easy links to do so... like I'm gonna go google them now, yeah right... lol...

Are YOU seriously that lazy?? YOU'RE the one who wants people to check them out. You'd think you'd at least include a link to an extra good show or video that represents them well. Or maybe their offical website so we could learn more about them... like where are they based, where/when are they playing, what's their genre, names of band members... you know, the normal kinds of things people want to know when they're checking out a new band. You tell us absolutely NOTHING about them (besides their name) AND provide no links... do you really expect people to put any further effort into it, when even YOU haven't?

Look, I'm sorry for coming off as a smart-ass. But seriously, there are a lot of good bands out there, and a whole bunch of shitty audio and video recordings to sort through to find them, and not enough hours in the day to do it (unless you have no other life). If you want people to check out a band, you have to make it easy for them... it could make the difference between 1 person bothering or 10... just increases the band's chances of exposure, that's all... simple marketing...

Hey I listened to all their MySpace songs... twice actually, once yesterday and again this afternoon... and I must say, they're pretty good! Aside from a couple parts that sounded slightly amateur-ish and/or somewhat annoying to listen to, I really dug it. Awesome groovy jams with great guitar. I'll try to hit a show if the opportunity ever arises. I only see 1 show on their schedule right now... do they work much? Do they ever come to PA? If you're friends with them, you should tell them to hit up the River Street Jazz Cafe near Wilkes-Barre or the Appalachian Brewing Company in Harrisburg... both good venues and I think they'd fit in there.

For what it's worth, I see people make posts like yours all the time... I always just kinda shake my head and don't bother commenting, but I think I was feeling extra cheeky that night. Nothing personal, and in my own screwed-up smart-ass way I think I was actually trying to HELP.

But anyway, I'd encourage people to check out The Silo Effect. On their MySpace they describe themselves as sounding like "experimental soundscapes, uptempo trance and breakbeats, dance music with 70’s disco grooves and heavy guitar effects, subtle & epic"... that sounds about right... I think ya'll would like them. :)

just found this thread and i have to say... i freaking LOVE THIS BAND. i see the first post is from 2009.. well 4 years later they have certainly upped their game in the jam scene. this band is an authentic, experimental, highly creative project, that puts a heavy focus on the collaborative arts, live painting, and universal integration and awareness of a higher consciousness.... i like that a lot. they have a new website and a ton of shows, with a whole slew of festivals on the schedule this summer -- siloeffect.com has lots of heady info and free music downloads for proper grooving.

Funny this old thread was recently bumped. Just last week somebody asked me if I knew anything about this band, and I remembered this old thread from a few years ago (and the hard time I gave the original poster, haha), and I told the guy I never saw them live, but I did listen to them online a while back and was pretty impressed. I bet they're even better now.
