I am 29, I've been playing guitar for over 10 years, and I am very good at both electric and acoustic styles as well as playing lead and rhythm. I write songs in all genres of styles (except metal or anything pissed off sounding) and LOVE to improvise!
I am moving to Colorado this summer (hopefully very early July). I don't have a place arranged yet, nor even a definite city picked out so I am WILLING TO MOVE NEAR YOU for the right people or persons.
I am seeking people who are fun, easy going, and have a positive attitude towards life who want to start a career orientated band with me.
Their would be a good mix of structuring of songs with every note in it's "right" place for recording purposes and some playing out live, but would love to find people who are able to improvise on the spot to fit our mood that night in the moment. If you aren't the best at improvising, don't let that stop you from contacting me, their are ways of getting around that and helping you learn to do so.
Be open to a wide variety of genres and mixes of genres from funk, rock, electronic, bluegrass/oldschool country, to world influence, hiphop whatever. I have an endless supply of top notch material I would love to have the rest of the band help shape, along with whatever you can bring to the table. Definitely looking to make this a band situation where it is creatively rewarding for all involved and we work and write songs as a group, however I am more than willing and able to be bandleader if necessary or write most of the material.
Mainly I am looking for people with good energy and who know how to enjoy themselves in everything they do...I've had too much drama in the past with band members who are too damn insecure about being involved with an actually very talented band who could become a big success or who were too afraid to commit to what they wanted because they didn't want to put in any of the required "work" (hard work in a band should be FUN! Work is just effort and fun with a goal!) to get to the next level. So free spirited and easy going people are a major plus.
I can definitely GUARNATEE that this will become a very successful band!!! We will be able to travel the world playing the best music we can possibly make for people and make plenty of money while were at it too. Sure we have plenty of work to do to get there but I can PROMISE we will get there, and more likely than not it will be sooner than later...Not to be cocky or come off as super egotistical or anything, but I'm way too damn good of a musician and song writer to fail at this...I just need some cool creative people to work and create with!
If can't handle succeeding or the fact that I am able to say this in all seriousness then PLEASE DO NOT REPLY, I've wasted so much time with people who thought they wanted to succeed at a career in music but then ran away from it right when they were just about to!
Music isn't a competition with other, but it is a competition within yourself to always keep making the best music you can possibly make. I am not trying to limit what level of success we might be able to achieve in any forms! So if you think you could be part of a band that makes music that is on the same level or "better than" the Beatles or the Grateful Dead or Phish or whoever then is your favorite band of all time then you are definitely who I am looking for!
If we will just be ourselves and make music that is the best we can possibly make and share our enthusiasm and love for the work we did with others then we have a shot at becoming one of the greats, even if we fail we will have tons of fun trying and be able to make a good living off the effort (seriously there are soooo many crappy or very mediocre bands out there succeeding that it's not even funny!). So let's get this thing going!
