Honestly, I'm glad he's telling people that it's a SHOW and not an ordinary CONCERT for his Puscifer performances...I've heard mixed reviews from a lot of people either loving it or hating the shows...I got to see Puscifer on the last night of his first tour in PHX and I loved every minute of it...it was so much fun the first half and any Deadhead would like it cause the songs performed in a Rockabilly manner are not only funny, but played well, then the real Puscifer comes out and takes reign...I didn't get into the studio album at first, but as usual once you see it live, it's much better...all in all, it was one of the greatest shows I've ever seen, a cross between Slap-Schtick Theater and a Rock Show...as for his wine, it's my absolute fav and not for it being associated w/ Maynard, but it actually tastes pretty dank compared to a lot of other wine produced by artists (Coppola Sux!!!) It's also nice that his partner with their Wine Company is a Huge Deadhead...I really wanna see this Documentary though...they were taping the PHX show and I wonder if they got Puscifer performances on there, cause I was pretty close to the stage I was pretty stoned and drunk off of Absinthe (whew, I thought I was hallucinating the whole first half of the show)...so if you get a chance, check this show out, it's worth it I promise you

It's a thin line between eccentric and asshole. I guess it's cool that he gets off on that but damn man throw a dog a bone every once in awhile. Personally when I saw Tool i thought it sucked how they didn't give a damn about the crowd. They didn't say shit ended their set and just walked off. That was at Bonnaroo where I felt they had a chance to reach a whole new audience. I get it man, they're too cool for us, but we made them that way. I do like him in this article though. If I ever meet Maynard I'm gonna stick my hand out then quickly pull it back and run it through my hair. You aint the only cool one Maynard!

^ didnt he start talking about some weird story about being redneck in the south at that bonnaroo show? I feel like I remember that, but the memory is a little hazy considering that set was right before cheese.

The way I remember it was they played schism, and I was like oh hell yeah, then I was like wait is it over? then i was like reaally? Then they never said shit walked off and I was like "darn". Missed the readneck story if they told it. I was just pissed about the ending. Good show though.

I don't think Maynard's an asshole. I just think his music and purpose has been misinterpreted by cock rock douche bags. He strikes me as an intellectual that realizes that life's too short to please everyone. On the other hand, I do miss hearing Danny's genius behind the kit. Tool= arguably one of the best bands of all time (46 +2 just ahead of me).
Thanks Jambase for a seriously relevant article.

Junkizl> when they played in PHX last summer, they were all smiles and also came back on stage took a bow, this was even after their last appearance during the 10,000 days tour where somebody threw a bottle at Maynard's head, so he walked off stage, came back on and just stood there while the band jammed for 15min...so don't give Tool shit cause they played one show that wasn't up to your standards and to knock Maynard cause he doesn't act like a fuckin Happy Hipster, I'm glad he acts the way does, shit listen to his music, doesn't that give you clues that he's not your average corporate douche whom exploits everything about himself to try to get attention, gimme a break, he is who he is and as long as his music is good then who gives a shit what his personality is....shit Hunter S. Thompson was known to be the biggest jerk in the world, yet his literature will shine on through generations to come

I could see a Tool show losing some of its magic at a big festical like Bonaroo.
Last time I saw them in SF at the Bill Graham Auditorium it was easily one of he top 5 best shows I have probably ever seen.
I can dig Maynard's style and attitude. He is a weird dude and I wouldnt expect anything else from him. Good article. Hope Tool comes out with another album and tours again.
