The new album has it's moments but i prefer his other studio work and live recordings.

It's definitely more pop, but after his last album that's really no big surprise.

I'd Do Anything is a fan-fucking-tastic track off the new album...but i agree with ya articgtp. My favorite is Living 2001-2002...that whole live album is unreal.

Well said "bigworld". Living 01-02 was epic. Also "Live at St. Gallen" is a must have. JBT has turned to some more pop type music on his studio work but they still shred live. Plus, it seems that these days pop music gets snubbed but I think it's only because of the crappy pop music that is pushed. I don't see anything wrong with structured, well-written songs that people can sing along to. JBT has a nice balance of that and jam. IMO

See John Butler Trio for free this summer. Free admission to Wakarusa 2010 for parking volunteers. This is a great way to experience the festival for free, and it only takes a few minutes to apply.
