Lipp is the mothafuckin man with mad skills and a humble demeanor. its true that dark party is a recent incarnation of lipp and leo but its probably worth noting that lipp and leo 123 have worked together long before lipp had even heard of alex b or the pnuma trio. take their track on the 2005 artifact perspectives album for instance. this article kind of makes it sound like Lipp Service is a much older collaboration.
enjoyed this press on some fun club music breaking into the jam scene though

^^ That sounds like the best party in Chi-town this NYE. I haven't done a Chicago NYE since '96, the last year I lived there before moving to San Francisco in Jan 1997.... This sounds like a nice underground party that I used to LOVE when I was a snot-nosed little Chi-town teenager, playing Bass in my ska band, Luke Skawalker, & splitting my time between Chicago & Madison, Wi's (the midwest's best party town) underground electronic scene, & the Huge Ska scene of the early to mid nineties (Skankin' Pickle, Slapstick, ect...), & the Grateful Dead/ Phish scene that was the best place to get drugs... Then I moved to San Francisco, & first head Steve Kimock & Phil & Friends & everything changed....

Ive seen these guys together three times now, twice opening for another artist (Anasia, Pretty lights) and once as the main bill. I must say that both opening sets were kinda weak, but when billed by themselves they brought the party hard. Ive also seen eliot by himself i think twice and both times were more my style than what dark party brings...granted those two times were at late nights after STS9 and Bisco shows so my judgment may be slightly skewed : )

eliot lipp is one of the hottest producers out there across all styles. youd be blown away how many of these other guys...pretty lights - bassnectar...are using beats lipp creates. his solo stuff has more of an edge to it no doubt. if you are a fan of beats, bass, hip hop, jam, electro Eliot Lipp is an absolute must see.
