DSO will be better off without him

That's it for these one's! The dude from the tricksters won't bring me in...what a bummer. I just hopes this means that Furthur will be around for a while, or maybe better yet, he goes out with the DEA. I'm a huge Warren fan...but he can't sing in the same keys as Jerry.

Just sucks that Micky and Bill aren't playin' with them. I wish they'd do something more creative than just play Dead tunes, it's not the Dead

I think DSO are good musicians but $25 and up for a cover band, come on, really? That's what I used to pay to see The Grateful Dead!

So are they never gonna play as DSO again? Or will they only play as "The Orchestra"

well the dollar isn't worth what it use to be! Everything costs alot these days, and it's only gonna get worse before it get better. The bands have to make a living to ya know.

I know, I know, still seems like too much for a cover band. Maybe it's different for folks who saw The Grateful Dead. But I guess there's a lot of folks willing to pay, just my opinion. They're such talented musicians, would be so cool if they'd write some originals to throw in the mix. Ha, "The Orchestra"

Even thought this is a step up in his career, it's always sad to see a founding member leave a band. Warren should stay with the dead too, he is the best possible "replacement" for Jerry G. Warren can both sing and play like an angel.

What would you suggest people see instead? If you weren't old enough to be there...or if you were a Jerry was wasted...DSO is as close as you'll get to a time machine back to the 70's.

Change is good. Lets get a big ass Phil and Friends/Further tour kicked off now.

Look, I love Warren okay but that last Dead tour was a bit flat. He is a guitar GOD but honestly his voice is not well suited to those songs. Sorry, I said it. Warren singing Deal? Nope.

The Zen Tricksters were the closest thing you could get to the Grateful Deads' music for a while before DSO hit the scene, so Matson is definately a great replacement choice. I look forward to catching Further out here on the west coast this summer and checking out John stretching his legs with the elders. If only Bobby lets him sing all Jerrys' songs!!

I'd prefer him go off and make some of his own music honestly.
