Kyle Hollingsworth: Then There's Now
Following the release of his first album since SCI went on hiatus, Hollingsworth goes in depth about reunion rumors, life as a family man, and his approach to living life in the now...

I lost a lot of respect for Kyle after his recent publicity stunt hacking apart a Hammond B3 Organ with a chainsaw to give the keys away as record promos. These organs have not been made for years and are very rare. He contends that it was a water damaged example from outside the Motet's studio but looking at the YouTube video it looked in pretty good shape to me. It seems it would have gone to better use as parts for the other rare organs which musicians have lovingly restored and continue to play rather than be hacked apart to sell a couple more copies of this record.

Kyle Hollingsworth rules, I can't wait for the next SCI tour. I have nothing but respect for him, and he can do whatever he wants to do to promote his album, bluefox. Hammond relaunched the B-3 by the way; sure, its not the original, but it certainly sounds like it.

Caught Kyle's show at Sullivan Hall here in NYC last night. Him and the band sounded great. There is definitely a renewed energy and spirit about him. Anything he does I will follow. Hopefully the next chance I get to see him is with SCI next summer.

No instrument should not be destroyed. He should have donated it to me or even better, to the mockingbird foundation. And that song is pretty bad too.

I had the honor of meeting Kyle a little bit ago when he played in Portland. I work for Deschutes Brewery and gave him and his crew a personal tour of the brewhouse and was later put on the guestlist for his show. He was soooo stoked to share his passion for beer and to discuss brewing with me and I was of course stoked to be talking to the keyboardist of Cheese. He is the nicest guy and I hope to be seeing him and the rest of SCI tear it up at Horning's this coming summer!!!!

Was pretty classy, how he totally deflected the political question. If only some of the other players in the community could do so.
