Why and How do you guys not have a writer there? Kaycee? DC? Couldn't one of you make it? I know you've got some great San Fran based freelancers?

That looks like a great set list. Can anybody who went let me know how the bands spirits were? Last Dead show I saw in Hartford was an absolute bore! I got up to shake my ass once. ONCE!!!!! So I wanna know if these guys are bringing it. I know DSO and Kadlecik does a great Jerry, but can someone who has actually seen The Dead with Jerry please tell me how his presence in this setting was?

Glad they booked dates in the Northeast - I'll be in Wally World. But can someone who went offer some sort of review? I will now Google the show and see if a newspaper reviewed it.

And yes, I am sure more dates will follow. See Y'all Further down the road.

Ok,

Here's a little review!!

I went to the Friday and Sunday night shows(missed a good one on Sat.).

After going to many Grateful Dead shows in the Midwest.....(all of the Deer Creek shows) and many non-Jerry dead shows, I would say this ranks up there among the best!!! (non-Jerry that is!!!)

John Kadlecik is the answer this band has been waiting for!!!

Everything was clicking, Phil's bass was VERY heavy(and sounded very good), Joe's drumming was on beat, and Jeff's keyboards were nice as always (except he was very low-key and had very little solo's).

I do have 1 complaint though!!!!!

Bobby......I love him with all my heart!!!

But he has to get rid of his HUGE EGO problem!!!!!!

Friday night's highlight was Althea.....that was because John sang it......and boy did he bring tears to your eye's.......

But, Sunday night, Bobby made the biggest mistake of those 2 nights.....

He didnt let John sing Sugaree......

All I wanna say is......Let John SING.......that is why he is here!!!!!!!!

I feel bad for Joe Russo. What a waste of good talent. Oh well, at least SE Duo tour's comin' up!

Duo being more technical than Dead-iterations notwithstanding, Russo's here 'cos he loves it - or so I'd imagine. I've been seeing him pop up Dead-type places lately. I canNOT believe that real members of The Grateful Dead are touring with Kadlecik. I'm also WAY into it, and I'm glad they made the decision. Hopefully this is a band that sticks around long enough to REALLY lock in to one another; it'll be (imho) the first next legit chapter of Grateful Dead legacy except those phew shows in '99. No offense, Jimmy & Warren. $.02.

First off, the venue. The Fox spared no cost at it's refurbish. Phenomenal, very, very nice. 7? bars. The Last Waltz cranked in the lobby bar...nice classy touches throughout.

Second, flew in from New Mexico that day. The herb scene is astounding. No one even blinks an eye including ushers. Felt like I was in Amsterdam. Funny thing was everyone's blazing but tobacco users please step outside. Love it.

Third, thought the music was going to be good, but it was me (my last night of being 35) who had to get my ass in gear after the 1-2 punch of Samson and Casey Jones. Absolutely rockin'. Jones was streched wayyy out like it was 74'. Sugaree, 1/2 Step excellent. Cucamonga (called it!) was smokin'. They took a simple country tune WAY out there. Second set more exploratory but very rockin as well. Big Viola, smokin Cumberland, Sugar Mags, Uncle John's had everyone singing along. Crowd was way into the whole show. Thought they would do a Jerry ballad for the encore but was hit with the Cosmic. Nice. I usually go to P&F, Ratdog, DSO to shake my bones but I usually do not download the shows. I will this one. This is the band that I've been waiting for. Go see em'.

Orgwell... I feel bad for Russo too... he's usually stuck in a "band" with only 2 instruments! I guess you have to be technical with only half a band! To say this is "A waste of good talent", when he's involved with the privilege of a lifetime, makes you ignorant beyond words. The guy is loving it, and you should be happy for him. Grab a copy of these shows and try to pay attention... I know six instruments at once is more than you're used to!
