First off whoever picks the writers for Jambase needs to be fired. Second off Im exhausted of people still saying that tools music is "Tool once again pulled back the curtain to the theater of the morose and despicable, unleashing their visceral fury" and i can't even begin to describe how atrocious, ignorant, and misdirected these comments are...
"The visual element of a Tool show is as important as the music itself, helping to further the distinctly dark, skin crawling discomfort that goes hand-in-hand with their music. Thematically the images are based around torturous zombie-like androgynous bodies in various undesirable situations mostly involving some form of repulsive mutilation." who the hell is the person who you allowed to write this...when maynard said he missed the yeah yeah yeah and everyone laughed they werent laughing at him they just already knew what ridiculous and confused verbal diarrhea you would pour onto my computer screen! Just because something is new, unfamiliar, or unintelligible to you does not make it the negativity that you attempt to feebly explain Tool away with. take some LSD and rethink the universe

If you are terrified of TOOL you are merely terrified of life and the endless possibilities of the human mind.

the last thing TOOL is...is horrid...maybe after a few more times around the planet with a quick tour of the universe you could appreciate the duality of TOOL and stop limiting the sounds they create to such negative subjective aspirations. TOOL can't be explained just like you don't have the meaning of life...

Run home to your familiarity of STS9 and leave the true exploration to those who willing throw themselves into the shadow with a shit eating grin from ear to ear

At least TOOL pushes away the unadventurous and welcomes the willing. They just have enough conviction to truly care about those who show earnest appreciation for the ridiculous and lovingly mock those who have yet to hear the message of hope as it is a warning for those who do not.

This review segmented a ton of the different acts from the weekend. I liked that.
As someone that loves TOOL and has been rocking out to Opiate since he was 13, I feel comfortable telling you TOOL fans that you need to direct your energies towards the band changing up their setlist.
That DJ area under the trees with LED screens sounds real cool.
