Regarding ?'s about police presence- Kids, this festie's on the Left Coast, where, in general, cops are at such functions to stand around, keep the peace, laugh at the tripped-out hippies, and only fuck with the most blatant/retarded. In general, as long as you have a pea-sized brain (which can sometimes be a stretch fro phishheads but..) in your head, you'll be fine. Here in Cali, cops are MUCH more concerned about alcohol abuse than Weed- so watch your booze drinking where you're not supposed to, don't have any huge signs advertising you are a drug dealer, and you should be fine. I would guess less than 30 people get arrested all weekend, & those will be people trying to sneak in OR DUI OR idiot loudmouth east-coast phishheads who talk shit to the po-po because they are a retarded hippie. Nitrus is the one thing I wonder about, I think those uhauls with 50 NO2 tanks might not make it in, but everyone else who just smokes or does a little E or L or Boomers will be JUST FINE. As an former midwestener who moved to Cali 12 years ago, I know all about the differences between Cali cops and the rest of the country, and there is a reason we stay out here in Cali!!

But with coachella, they have a thing worked out with the cops to allow the festi. The cops can roam free and patrol.

I don't like the idea of walking around at a phish fest with undercovers trying to bust people for smoking a joint, let alone all the other things.

And yes people have gotten busted/kicked out for even smoking a joint at coachella.

That's why I like when festi's have their own private security. They can keep the place safe, but at the same time their not making money for arrests or filling a quota.

I'm sure it's going to be a blast, just hope they can work something out.

Wondering about the grilling issue. the website makes a joke out of it. Honestly I would be more concerned about my grill getting seized then busted for smoking. Honestly do you not think that cops are at the Roo or other major fests. Smoking weed out her is nothing trust me they are more concerned with the cartels bringing in thousands of pounds. Not the head with a few oz. if your smart your fine. I'm not scoring at the show anyway having my buddy go to the local medical clinic. Where else can you say that.

Ya just read the message boards about Coachella this year. They didn't want the PR for making so many small time marijuana busts, so instead they just kicked people out so that there weren't any official numbers. They saved all of the arrests for people they could really screw.

I don't care how cool the cops are, if I had a choice between cool cops or no cops, I would certainly take no cops. I mean cops roaming freely inside a phish fest?? FUCK! Even if I don't have to worry about getting arrested... Being paranoid about getting kicked out sucks. And I don't care how cool they are, seeing the po on L is a time ruiner.

If you stay safe and use your head, things will be fine. I just personally like to let loose and not have to worry at a fest, and this doesn't sound like the one to do that.

there were cops in the Rothbury groungs...in SHERWOOD - where ppl were straight up losing it...enough with the cop talk...if you that stupid your gonna get busted...

That crowd is also a reason why I dont go to Coachella...half those tards get on a train from LA and boom wow they're at a festival...

People always need something to bitch about. So its at indio ao lets bitch about the cops. there are cops at every major fest. If you don't think they are there you are in outer space period.

if you are going to act like a fool you will get arrested any where period. Sure there is always the random bad luck of a person who runs into a dick cop and bust you for a joint. but out of 80,000 how often is that going to happen.

if you feel that afraid of the police and the venue don't go maybe your gut feeling is telling you something.

Me personally no fears at all. I've been to hundreds of shows and fests.

Makes me sick how many posters on this site have scene a phish show sober. I have and it was a personal choice. I love the music

I have only seen shows sober. I am one of the few drug free jamband fans, always have been.

I don't want to lecture I was just venting we should celebrate this event. Not put it down a complain before it goes down. I know I will take hits for my comments .
