I have not yet heard any of this recent Trey/Orchestra stuff, though I have very high hopes for it! It is tough to pull it off without sounding cheesy, but I think this highlights one of Trey's bigger talents- composing. Have you guys heard the Dead Symphony? I saw this recently and it was really fun http://www.emusic.com/album/Russian-National-Orchestra-Dead-Symphony-An-Orchestral-Tribute-to-the-Music-MP3-Download/10991604.html

I wonder what the orchestras think of doing these shows. Do they get excited about the concept or do they think it's just a bullshit publicity deal?

mesaxi, I wondered the same thing when I recently attended BSO playing the music of Nobuo Uematsu, composer for the long-running Final Fantasy game series. but it was BSO that did the FF and the Trey pieces, so who knows? still, they looked oddly nonplussed during the applause, and almost miffed to HAVE to stand up and take so many bows.

ok d line obviously you didnt see any shows and Im sure your just a newbie to make such a comment. Phish has done and will do things your simple mind can not comprehend. Anyway Charlotte and Atlanta need some Phish love in the fall. Trey, I like your symphonic collaborations, however your best interest would probably be to playing more shows with the band that you are know for.
