glad i didn't go with rothburywithcheese to rothbury you sound like a real party pooper. i know quiet a few kids under 25 that are not in a frat and definately are more into the dead than you will probably ever be. pretty sad that someone shooting fireworks off in the middle of the day puts a damper on your weekend. and as far as anyone with dreads being disgusting and lame, you are the one that paid a shit load of money to go to a JAM BAND FESTIVAL... that's right a JAM BAND FESTIVAL. obviously you are the noob that has never been to a festival before b/c if you have you would realize all the things you complain about are simply what happens at festivals. how about you stay home and jack your dad off in the shower while your mom eats your ass out instead of trying to control everyone else's good time. whaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaambulance

and if you do want to go to a festival w/out the frat douche scene look into a smaller festival that is not 60000+ people, it's called common sense and you lack it

Oh yeah, just got home, and had a great time over the past 2 days. Lucked-out with getting put in the day lots for my camping, and the stages were only about a 5 minute walk from my tent. I enjoyed all the acts I saw, and LOVED The Dead, however, I was not thrilled about how they dragged out Space, It killed the energy in the crowd for about 20 minutes there. Late nights were great, although the STS9 PA set appeared to be a normal STS9 show with the full band, and MSTRKRAFT was pretty good but the speakers were fucked up and kept popping. Only saw a little on Umphreys saturday night, but caught the Pretty Lights setbreak set which kicked ass. Sunday was good, Yonder and mule were awesome, Bob Dylan wasn't terrible....but he was a terrible choice to shut down the mainstage(it wasn't very exciting, to say the least), but last nights UM set was classic, although the mantisyahoo thing went a little long, the crowd was twice as big as saturdays set and well rested due to Dylans set, so Umphreys was a great choice to shut down the festival. Had no problems getting in or out, as well as the easiest security search ever, I give Rothbury 2009 2 big thumbs up. Didn't have any problems with Frat boys or dread lock people or anyone else, it was a great festival.

Wow!!! Wish I was there. But the live stream and clips on the Rothbury site let me join the party and the video angles were amazing to see these super telented musicians tearing it up for thousands of wild fans! Hopefully more people will write in reviews of all the different shows, events, and wild stuff.

Mikemac is right, it is Hann. Brahnnie_Lott is an ass but I agree with everything he says. I personally know tons of people under 25 who love the Dead. Is the music not able to live on through new generations just because they never saw them? And if you want a fest without the mainstream frat scene, go to a small fest. There were a ton of great people there, dreads or no dreads. Stop judging people by the styles they choose and judge them for who they are. Why does everyone hate so much? Rothbury was phenomenol as was the music, people, wooks, custies, fratboys, gypsies, or whatever the hell you wanna call people.

Ok Jambase: sweet pics but honestly, get the names of the amazing musicians right- this is supposed to be a legit website...Jason Hann drummed with the Dead, not Michael Travis....and to everyone bitching about people at festies- everyone is different- except it or don't go to festies anymore because they are home to a very amazing and different crowd of people. And if you don't like dreads and people under 25 what are you doing at a music festival? If you really loved the music you would be happy that young people are adopting it and loving it and being introduced to it! Yeah Rothbury! Rocking time!

Saturday was absolutely EPIC. In my opinion they could not of scheduled it better. Zappa into the most tweeked out Claypool ive ever seen followed by the Dead. Then the late night UMPH/Pretty Lights/UMPH at the ranch then to end the late night partying with STS9 in the court. My brain may never be the same!!!!!!!
