"You can find out more when the album is released on September 15."

Haha, thanks JB!

Oh_mander hey, i love bob dylan, but give me a break - the guy whored himself in a commercial for cadillac fucking escalade. that aside, what's wrong with appearing with the beastie boys, anyhow? hell, how's about a tour - the free illin' bob dylan

yea oh_mander your comment is blatantly horrendous. both of these people are pioneers and a collaboration im sure will be nothing short of great. the beastie boys are absolutely incredible live, they are unlike anything you will ever see and truly raise the bar of live performances to unreachable levels by most bands especially hip hop artists. bob dylan is absolutely atrocious live, he reminds me of a dying toad and makes no effort to connect with an audience, ive seen both multiple times and if anyone doesn't deserve the other its vice versa, but this track is sure to be hot as shit because ANYTHING the beastie boys touch is fucking gold.

Dylan can do whatever he wants. He's had stranger collaborations than this. He wrote some songs for Gene Simmons' album a few years ago. That is ridiculous because Gene Simmons and Kiss suck ass. The Beastie Boys on the other hand are very talented and worthy of a Dylan sample or whatever it may be. A joint tour anyone?

Chux7487 I've seen Dylan and the Beasties many times too. The Beasties are phenominal. Dylan is an acquired taste. His voice is shit (newsflash) But the energy of his shows depend on the night. His band is fantasic and they play with a very original, raw technique which allows the songs to sound different and new every time. Definitely not for every one though. Can't wait to hear the Beasties new album. I havn't seen them live in ten years (Hello Nasty tour) They're classic.

yes they truly are innovators and especially in the live regard. i am not discrediting bob dylan at all and i dont need to be told hes an acquired taste haha i think anyone who has ever listened to him knows that, i love bob dylan and respect him even more, but the point is he blows ass now. his albums are classic his collaborations with such heros of mine like the dead are sub par but legendary in sheer concept, i was just saying that the beastie boys hold far more weight in my book as these guys have NEVER stopped bringing the heat.

This isn't the first album they have sampled Dylan on. "Finger Lickin' Good" on Check Your Head has a sample of "Just Like Tom Thumb's Blues"

What can I say - I've never been a beastie fan. I'm just bored with it - it all sounds the same to me. OK so Bob's voice isnt great, but i've never left a show disappointed. I guess I'll reserve judgement til i hear it, but i'm not expectin much.

And I didn't see the Escalade commercial.

as far as the commercials go it isn't like bob owns all the rights to his music...sony and michael jackson owns some/most/all his stuff. know what ur talkin about before u get ugly n calling people sell outs. esp my boy the bard.

In the 60's Dylan was asked in an interview, what product would he ever promote with one of his songs. His response, "Ladies under garments." Jump ahead forty years, and his first commercial was for Victoria's Secret. F'n classic. I love this guy. His humor is not lost on me. As for an acquired taste, the Beasties could be considered quite that. Too often we let our taste outshine others' talent.

yeah, twain - actually, in the escalade commercial, bob is in fact DRIVING the escalade. the commercial didn't run for long. hopefully others had the same reaction i did. you can harumph all you like - i don't care that they soundtracked the commercial with a dylan song, or even that he made a personal appearance - but for an escalade? weak.
